Research Education Programme
The Research Education Programme is open to all clinicians who are new to research, but they are primarily targeted at research delivery fellows.
The sessions occur on alternate months over an afternoon. Topics covered include research methodology, statistics, career pathways and how to set up research studies. The programme also gives opportunities for clinicians involved in research from across UHS and the University of Southampton to meet and network.
As well as the Research Education Programme, there are many other opportunities at UHS for research delivery fellows to develop their research skills and knowledge.

Meet our fellows
Who can become a research delivery fellow?
Research delivery fellows are mostly resident doctors. However, we also have non-medical research fellows, and want to grow this area of the workforce.
They come from a range of specialties, and are vital for the delivery of studies ranging from phase 1 trials to large scale, late stage trials that are close to clinical roll out.
The primary role of research delivery fellows is to delivery UHS's broad and cutting edge research portfolio. However, we also want to ensure that our fellows are trained and developed during their time at UHS, to ensure that we are developing the next generation of research leaders for the NHS.
The research delivery fellows programme is overseen by Dr Dan Owens, who works within UHS R&D to ensure that all the roles are beneficial to the research fellows in their training and development. These roles are advertised via UHS careers and NHS jobs, so please look there if you are interested in the latest opportunities.
